What's the most exciting thing happening today in human resources?
Human resources in the progressive, forward thinking companies, was identified as a critical component to an organization's success many years ago. Today, we continue to see more companies recognizing the value of human resources in helping set business strategy from the "people side" of the business.

What's your biggest concern about the profession?
Health-care reform. More compliance and administrative requirements now require HR departments to do more with less while simultaneously making major decisions that impact the workforce strategy and employeevalue proposition. It is vital for HR departments to leverage technology and become more efficient so they strategically manage and retain their talent.

What would you change about the human resources industry in the U.S.?
I still do not believe that human resources has the ultimate respect that it deserves as an industry, wrongly viewed as an overhead cost center, rather than an integral business partner driving organizational performance.
